Amazon unveils $49 Fire tablet, Fire TV device with voice remote

On Thursday, seven new gadgets were revealed on the Amazon website including their brand new Fire tablet as well as two larger tablets, a new Fire TV Stick and a cool new Fire TV set top box. Of particular interest will be the facts that the tablet called simply “Fire” will sell for less than $50 before tax and/or shipping, and that the new Fire TV device integrates Amazon’s Alexa voice interactivity built into the remote. At today’s Apple event held in California, the company announced several new exciting tech devices. Among them are the latest versions of their smartphone, as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were revealed. In addition, Apple announced a new Apple TV with touch remote and Siri integration, as well as a new iPad Pro with an Apple Stylus pencil. The new Sphero BB-8 toy is a miniature, controllable replica of the droid that will appear in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Price tag: $150 at Amazon.com.

The new BB-8 Sphero toy, an app-controlled droid (see here) from the new “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” film, will officially arrive to the masses as of midnight Eastern Time on Friday, Sept. 4th. It seems like this cute and functional little robotic ball could be the hit of the upcoming holiday season too, despite carrying the price tag of some tech gadgets which can do a lot more. Apple unveils new iPad Air 2, Mini & more!

Apple’s recent event in Cupertino, California was jammed with new product announcements, new information about Apple Watch and a hilarious phone call with Stephen Colbert. The event was kicked off by Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook at the company’s campus in Cupertino. Cook was there to let the entire world know that Apple was not yet done with 2014.

The new products Apple released before it closed out the year included the new Apple iPad Air, new iPad mini, new iMac computer and iOS 8. According to Apple, the new gadgets are better than the earlier ones in terms of performance and the features that have been either introduced or improved.

There’s also another few new innovations to get excited about as we head into the new year, namely Apple’s first smartwatches and the new Apple Pay system. First up, the new iMac computer.

New iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus Announced

Apple fans and those looking for an iPhone upgrade will be thrilled to hear that the new larger iPhone 6 models were announced today by the company and are now more than just rumors and speculations. Apple confirmed on 9 September that the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus will be available for pre orders from September 12, 2014. The phones will be sized at 4.7 and 5.50 – inches respectively. In addition, Apple will be unveiling their iOS 8 upgrade next week and a new service called Apple Pay has been revealed, which will be exclusive to the iPhone 6 models, for now. [Read more…]

Acer C720P ChromebookThe Chromebook Acer 720P is a unique class of computing device. It differs from the traditional laptop because it runs on web-based apps and not on traditional PC applications. This device is designed to be connected to the internet (typically with WiFi or 3G/4G service) and will not run traditional PC software such as Microsoft Office or Adobe Photoshop. Instead, it uses Google Apps that are especially designed for these purposes. Unlike traditional PCs, you can store some files on the actual device, but will mostly store your files in the cloud in Chromebook. The 720P is the latest of the Chromebook laptops with a 11.6″, anti-glare, high definition and LED back-lit display. It also sports a touchscreen, which is one of the first of these devices to do so. The device can be purchased with 2GB or 4GB memory on board for different prices, and in black or white color choices.
