Samsung Galaxy S4 SmartphoneThe Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphone (pictured at left) was heralded by many for its ease of use and great technology. However, it seems like the company has some new ideas in mind to really boost their mobile phone offering and compete with the likes of the Apple iPhones of the world. The newest smartphone from the Samsung company was announced and presented recently at the Mobile World Congress 2014 event in Barcelona.

Here are the top five features that might make the Galaxy S5 the smartest phone to date. Let us have a look and see what’s in store for those who pick up the new Samsung smartphone.

1. Power Saving Mode – the Samsung Galaxy S5 will have a unique power saving mode that shows only black and white, and it restricts which apps can run. This mode will be a huge help when you are out and about with a low battery. You will be able to extend the amount of time your phone has power using it.

2. 16 MP OIS Shooter – The Samsung Galaxy S5 will feature a 16 megapixels Optical Image Stabilization Shooter. Early people who have used the new camera have a reason to rejoice. The OIS shooter makes it possible to click amazing pictures even if the phone shakes or vibrates. It will also help to improve color fidelity and improve low light camera performance. It also includes selective focus, which will be a fun feature for photographers.

3. Dual Version Phones – If rumors are to be believed, Samsung is planning to launch two versions of Galaxy S5 – S5 Prime and S5 Standard. The Standard model will house in a Qualcomm MSM8974 AC quad core 32-bit processor while the Prime model will have Exynos 5430 octa core 32-bit processor. One more thing that is being discussed is that the phone might have metallic body. If not metallic then the plastic casing is expected. Only time will tell what is Samsung up to.

4. 1440p Screen Resolution – As far as the screen quality is concerned, the Korean electronics manufacturer has not disappointed its users till date. We can expect the same in the future version of Samsung Galaxy phones. It is expected that the screen size will be 5.25 inches and the pixel resolutions is expected at 2560×144 pixels. If Samsung really comes up with 1440p resolution screen then it will be among the first ones to launch with this feature.

5. Brand New Design – One feature about all Samsung Galaxy phones, which many people dislike too, is the fact that all the phones in the series have a similar design. The onlydifference lies in the length and breadth of the phones. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will come with a different design so that it stands apart from the Galaxy crowd. Many people are unhappy that the phone is still made out of plastic, but it is a perforated plastic that does feel like an improvement.

6. Fingerprint Scanner – A lot of attention was garnered by the Touch ID feature of Apple’s iPhone 5S that is placed with the home button. It was truly an innovative idea from the makers of iPhone. HTC also tried its hands at innovation and came up with the same on the back cover of HTC One Max. A similar feature can be found in Atrix 4G from Motorola. In order to compete with three big players in the Smartphone market, Samsung will position the fingerprint scanner right under the 5-inch touch screen display which is built by Validity Sensors.

Of note, when comparing the S5 to the S4, the screen size has increased to 5.1 inches. The S5 will have the same plastic casing that the S4 used, but it will feature a leatherette back. In addition, the S5 is said to have a “slightly lower pixel density than its predecessor” the S4 has. The S4 and S5 are nearly identical when it comes to operation and operating systems, but the S5 will have a brand new notification bar as part of its display.
